Great that you had a gear-change to go with that pace for a lap. As you say, girls like Lisa are experts at these events. 6:51 is moving for a 2k steeple! I know the lady who at one time held that record - a bit over 7 minutes - she'd also run a sub-5 mile, and was a track specialist.

Congrats again on the PB, and enjoy the change of pace to marathon training.Ewenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01093209634556111656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-42310287242575380992010-07-26T14:15:27.556-07:002010-07-26T14:15:27.556-07:00fun to read the recap of the race... brings back t...fun to read the recap of the race... brings back those feelings of excitement. you know, after reflecting on the race a bit, it occurred to me that this is probably the first one i've ever done where i literally had no idea what time i was running and wasn't even thinking about it! for one thing, there wasn't a clock at the 400 mark (i'm quite sure i did not see one of those huge black things at the 400 mark this time!)and i didn't hear splits. but also, this turned out to be purely about racing, which was really fun and exciting! when i neared the finish line, i literally had no clue what time i had run. anyway, fun experience... one we'll never forget!t-meatnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-73626936592409514222010-07-26T09:51:28.498-07:002010-07-26T09:51:28.498-07:00Wow, I loved this report and what a race!
