I know you're right about Coach Tom. He doesn't need more headaches:)

Thanks, Harriet. I wish I had learned this lesson sooner. I seem to like to learn things the hard way, though. I am impressed that you were able to link the lack of stretching to the achilles injury. That seems to me to be the hardest thing to do--connect cause and effect. Whether this helps me with this problem or not, it's a great habit to get into.Jaymeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01680519617786773673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-64414459065363485362011-03-27T04:29:18.252-07:002011-03-27T04:29:18.252-07:00Oooh yes. I once had a phase where I stopped stretching afterwards (sadly, it was a phase in which I really upped my training, so I NEEDED to stretch, but because I was spending more time running, I felt like I didn't have time) and it took about six weeks for a lovely achilles injury to develop. Duuuh.

Glad you're discovered the magic of stretching, and really hope it helps!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-59595196625979330512011-03-26T20:31:27.791-07:002011-03-26T20:31:27.791-07:00Thanks for that. I like the non-spidey calf stretch against the pole - and the 'while sitting at computer glute stretch'.

You're right that it doesn't take long. Might see Dr. Lau out of pocket and fewer headaches for Coach Tom ;)Ewenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01093209634556111656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-71749484153403062562011-03-26T08:42:47.366-07:002011-03-26T08:42:47.366-07:00I hope it helps you too, Mark. Now that I see how important it is, I think I'll have the time:)Jaymeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01680519617786773673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-52108913297805742962011-03-25T18:28:30.016-07:002011-03-25T18:28:30.016-07:00Nope - you're not close to being the only runn...Nope - you're not close to being the only runner who doesn't stretch (oops!). Thanks for the clear explanations and descriptions. I'll give it a try after tomorrow's run.Mark U.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04792726660751354015noreply@blogger.com
