So my "solution" was to stop wearing a HRM.Nancynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-5455712885532913882009-12-17T12:46:38.164-08:002009-12-17T12:46:38.164-08:00Flo: Thanks for the tip. Remembering stuff: not an easy feat.

T-meat: Good point about HR being elevated when sick. I do agree that I wasn't feeling great the morning of the RTFTH, and my HR may have been elevated as a result. More than caring about HR since it can vary so much, I've been trying to pay attention to how I feel at various paces under varied conditions. What I call progress is how much more comfortable I feel training at 6:00 pace. When I look back on past training cycles, it took me a lot longer to feel comfortable running 6:00 pace whether I was calling it 10k effort or LT effort. 6:00 pace felt great Sunday and it's very early in my training cycle and that is good news.Jaymeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01680519617786773673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-88053494931398340122009-12-17T11:59:20.733-08:002009-12-17T11:59:20.733-08:00this is from my own MANY experiences running while...this is from my own MANY experiences running while sick: i'll bet your HR during RTFTH was especially high because you were feeling sick. that really, really changes things. it's amazing how much higher even your resting heart rate can be when you are sick. i don't even own a HR monitor, but it becomes very obvious how sickness affects performance... even without all the nifty devices out there. i'm not saying you aren't experiencing progress, because i'm sure you are. i'm just saying that it probably isn't accurate to compare anything to RTFTH.trackmeatnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2668199593986982895.post-44071525509330052812009-12-17T11:25:46.101-08:002009-12-17T11:25:46.101-08:00What a fun day! Congrats on the winnings for the Impalas and pretty much behaving yourself on the run. ;-) About the monitor/sweat, if you get yourself some aloe gel from the drugstore, you'll never have to worry about it making proper contact again. It's the poorman's EKG gel, works a treat.Girl In Motionhttp://www.girl-in-motion.comnoreply@blogger.com
